Ben Shaoul's Rising East Village Condo Gets Height Boost

New, 4 comments

In a turn of events that really isn't surprising in the least given Ben "The Sledgehammer" Shaoul's involvement, the Lower East Side bland box developer's newest condo project on Avenue A between East 6th and 7th streets will rise to eight stories, rather than the six previously reported (h/t EV Grieve). The height revelation comes by way of a new rendering spotted by New York YIMBY that proves the building will be another of architect Issac & Stern's typical brick constructions (albeit an eight-story one.) With the modified height comes a modified apartment count; from 33 to 44.

Condos in the building, which will sit atop retail tenant Blink Fitness, will start at $1.3 million.
