The luxury condoification of Midtown continues, although the latest development to launch sales isn't along the so-called "Billionaire's Row" of 57th Street. It's actually two blocks north, at 118 East 59th Street: The development, called 118 East 59, consists of 29 full-floor (and, in some cases, multiple-floor) residences that the will start at $5 million. So what does all that cash get you? The two- to four-bedroom apartments, which were designed by SCDA Architects (which is also responsible for the building's glassy, stacked-box exterior), have high ceilings, open kitchens, and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook Midtown. There are also some duplexes and triplexes, along with a penthouse apartment—no details are available on that, but we're guessing it will be pricey and opulent. The building, described as an "urban escape" by the brokers, has two full floors of amenities that include a gym, a terrace, and a private dining room. Five listings are currently available, with the smallest being a 1,700-square-foot two bedroom for $5 million, and the largest being a three-bedroom, 3,200-square-foot duplex, going for $18.8 million.
