Work Begins on Morris Adjmi's 40-Story Nomad Tower

New, 12 comments

Work has begun on the 40-story condo designed by Morris Adjmi that's set to rise at 30 East 31st Street. A construction fence has appeared around the site, bringing with it a first rendering for the project (h/t YIMBY). According to a rep for Morris Adjmi, the design is no longer current, but a more updated look at the building isn't available quite yet. Once complete, the condo tower will have just 38 condos spread out over 71,500 square feet, meaning each will be just under 2,000 square feet. The development is a joint venture between the Eckstein Development Group, who also own the Chelsea Muse, and Pinnacle Real Estate.

The developers paid just over $15 million for the site earlier this year. The site was formerly home to the parish house of the Madison Avenue Baptist Church, and was built in 1907. The parish house has been completely demolished over the past few months, and construction on the new building underway. The project is expected to be complete sometime in 2018.
