Since we last checked in with 70 Charlton Street, Extell's condo development in Hudson Square, construction has moved along rather swiftly. Field Condition recently took a tour of the development, and got these shots of both the exterior and the interiors.
The development will have two luxury buildings, designed by Beyer Blinder Belle, and the first one—facing Charlton Street, and standing 22 stories tall—has topped out. The structure fronting Vandam Street, meanwhile, is still in the process of reaching its full height. Unlike Extell's other notable developments, including One Manhattan Square and the supertall Central Park Tower, these condos won't be towering glassy structures; instead, they'll have brick-and-metal facades, in a nod to the "historical character of the neighborhood's industrial past," according to Field Condition. Construction should be completed next year, with a move-in date TBD.
