Work Begins on 48-Story Towers at LIC's Former 5Pointz Site

New, 1 comment

Foundation work is underway on the plain-looking towers that will rise at the once-vibrant site of 5Pointz, the iconic graffiti space in Long Island City, Queens, Court Square Blog reports.

The site, which is located at 22-24 Jackson Avenue, has just under 1 million square feet of residential space and 40,000 square feet of commercial space. The Department of Buildings approved the permits for the 48-story twin buildings back in May, and once complete, the development will feature a whopping 1,100 apartments. The project is being developed by Jerry Wolkoff, and construction is expected to be complete by 2017.
