The Lightstone Group has been plugging away in Gowanus, much to the dismay of neighbors, where they're erecting the not at all out-of-scale two-tower development that will bring 700 apartments to the shores of the superfund canal. As sure a sign of progress as its towering height, 86 affordable apartments in the development are now up for grabs from $833. Brick Underground reports, by way of the HousingConnect website, that 20 studios are available for $833/month, 48 one-bedrooms are available for $895/month, and 18 two-bedrooms are available for $1,082. Households must earn between $29,932 and $51,780 yearly, depending on family and apartment size, in order to qualify.
As per Brick Underground, the rentals in 365 Bond Street will have a 24-hour attended lobby, in-unit washers and dryers, bike storage, a roof deck with barbecues, and for an additional fee, residents will be able to use the building's fitness facilities, which include yoga rooms. However, the area's signature eau de Gowanus scent will come complimentary to building residents. Applications for affordable housing close on January 4, 2016, and move-ins are expected in 2016.
The Real Deal reported in September that Lightstone Group sold the second of the development's buildings at 363 Bond Street to Atlantic Realty Development for $75 million. "We ultimately decided to convey 363 Bond to Atlantic Realty because we thought that they would be a great partner in finishing this community," a Lightstone rep told TRD, adding that Lightstone plans on launching leasing at 365 Bond Street in the first quarter of 2016.
