Please welcome the newest addition to Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights. Renderings went up this week at the site, located at 681 Franklin Avenue. The new structure will be a four-story, mixed-use building featuring 8 apartments split up into two-bedrooms and three-bedrooms, according to development group, Candor Capital, which is also working on a 10-unit residential building with two and three Bedrooms in Gowanus and a 12-unit mostly with studios in Brooklyn Heights. The two-bedrooms will cost anywhere between $3,000-$3,500 and the three-bedrooms will range from $4,000 - $4,500.
The basement features a lounge with a TV, and other features that Candor says it hasn't settled on yet. The building will also have a roof deck once it's complete. The ground floor may feature a restaurant or bar if Candor is able to acquire the requisite permits, but it will be a commercial establishment regardless, he said.
Candor purchased the building for $1.4 million back in September. It has roped in Bronx-based design firm, BMG Design Build as the architects for the project. Construction work began on the project a couple of weeks ago, and is expected it to be complete in the next 6-8 months
The site was formerly home to a three-story building and had been abandoned since 1985, according to Brownstoner, which first reported on the demolition work going on at the site in early October.
