One thing's for certain with Curbed Cup 2015: it ain't over 'til the polls close.
Several of the first round match-up's duked it out until the end. West Chelsea (1) rose to overtake former Curbed Cup winner St. George (16) in the eleventh hourand by all of 12 votes. Nomad (6) and Astoria (11) were neck-and-neck until the Manhattan neighborhood soared ahead just hours before the polls closed.
Other bouts were givens. New neighborhood Hudson Yards (3) trounced sleepy Yorkville (14), the staid West Village (8) maintained a steady lead over industrial Red Hook (9), and booming Downtown Brooklyn (2) breezed ahead of budding Mott Haven (15).
The biggest surprises? Fringe-'hood Flushing (13) dominated heavy-hitter the Financial District (4), and up-and-coming Gowanus (10) stole a spot in the Elite Eight from well-established Dumbo (7).
