New, 17 comments

A year after renders were revealed for a possible supertall condo-hotel in Midtown, the project is now ready to move forward courtesy of a new developer coming on board. Extell Development has acquired a 39 percent stake C&K Properties plans to build a 60-story hotel-condo building at 1710 Broadway, The Real Deal reports.

The site is located between West 54th and 55th Streets on Broadway and offers a total 370,000 square for the new project. Extell paid $247 million to acquire a stake in the hotel-condo development. C&K had purchased the site back in 2003 for $23 million, according to TRD.

The site is currently occupied by a 83,000 square foot office building, and has Sean Combs' (a.k.a Puff Daddy) entertainment companies as one of its tenants. The building will be demolished to make room for the hotel-condo development. At last check, Goldstein, Hill & West were the architects on the project.

Extell is also developing the nearby 1,550-foot tall Central Park Tower.
