Robert A.M. Stern's Opulent 520 Park Avenue Is On the Rise

New, 20 comments

The Zeckendorf's 520 Park Avenue will be one of the city's most lavish condos when it's complete in 2017, but as of yet the building's just a five-story concrete shell. Construction site chronicler Tectonic visited the Upper East Side site between East 60th and 61st streets to snap a few pictures of the building's progress. It's still far from resembling the 54-story limestone-sheathed tower Robert A.M. Stern designed for the site. The building fronts on East 60th Street, and will welcome residents in with a marble and wood-decked lobby that's nothing short of impressive.

With just four of the building's 33 condos on the market, 520 Park Avenue has already made it onto the list of the city's most expensive homes for sale. Current availability ranges from a $20.5 million 4BR/4.5BA condo to a $70 million 6BR/7.5BA duplex. The building's triplex penthouse has yet to hit the market, but when it does it will ask a rumored $130 million. Now, another look at the building's sumptuous interiors.
