Brooklyn Heights Penthouse With Roof Deck Seeks $18K/Month

New, 6 comments

A new apartment has vaulted its way to the near-top of the list of Brooklyn's most expensive rentals—and unsurprisingly, it's in Brooklyn Heights, home to the two homes that top that list (that would be 11 Cranberry Street and 113 Willow Street, respectively). Welcome 72 Poplar Street's penthouse to the ultra-expensive club: The 2,000-square-foot apartment in a turn-of-the-century former police building is asking $18,500 per month. It was previously listed for sale for nearly $4 million, but had languished there for a year; who knows if the rental market will be kinder, but it could be a good trophy property for some wealthy person. It does come chock-full of amenities, chief among them a 2,300-square-foot roof deck that affords lovely views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Lower Manhattan. But is it worth $18,500 per month? You be the judge.
