Neighborhood Beefs

A Crown Heights community board meeting on Wednesday got a little rowdy, with police escorting out two women who identified themselves as members of local activist group Movement to Protect the People. The activists were at the meeting to protest possible changes to zoning rules in southern Crown Heights and Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. While one of the barred women proclaimed that getting the boot was for "speaking up," Cuomo later penned an open letter decrying the consistent ridicule and verbal attacks of "a consistent small group of individuals."
