The Times Square Hotel at 790 Seventh Avenue sold in 2012, and permits were filed a year ago for an addition that would double the 23-story building in size. But it looks like that is not going to happen. The hotel is being sold again, and the new owners, Qatari firm Al Rayyan Tourism and Investment, plan to build a new building on a part of the site, which occupies a full block, or demolish the whole thing and build a new 900,000-square-foot building.
