Well this is pretty depressing. A YouTube video uploaded to the site on February 17 shows that demolition of the historic Bancroft Building on West 29th Street has begun. In the name of new development, HFZ Capital is razing the handsome 19th-century office building, although what exactly will replace it has yet to be announced. If goodbyes are in order, scurry over there quickly; it looks like interior demolition is pretty much complete. That means the lovely red and white stripped facade is coming down next.
