Suzanne Lipshutz, the colorful owner of the iconic vintage wallpaper shop Secondhand Rose, has lived in the equally colorful Chelsea Hotel for more than 20 years. Having negotiated with the developers turning the rent-stabilized bastion of the artistic and famous into a boutique hotel, she is moving to an apartment on another floor to make way for further renovationsbut not before the Times took a glorious photo tour of her damask-, brocade, and (of course) wallpaper-filled apartment.
