This week's sole guesser, Mike L, thought the pictured set of squat, uniform buildings might be in Jackson Heights, and while it's a decent guess, it's far from correct. The truth is the group of buildings are the Academy Houses in the Clason Point neighborhood of the Bronx. The building's look largely the same today, although the pictured retail has changed a bit in the past 80 years.
