The Upper East Side's CB 8 has voted unanimously to approve a nonbinding resolution that would move the location of a wheelchair-accessible bridge over FDR from East 81st Street to East 82nd Street, despite the added perils the move would bring to those looking to access the bridge. The decision comes down to views. "I would look outside of my window and feel like a mouse in a laboratory," an opponent said of the "cage"-like bridge, "The view of the water would be ruined for a lot of people." Isn't there a saying about being a decent human and giving up a little so a lot of people can benefit? No? Image via Curbed Flickr Pool / Joel Raskin [NYP]
