Jimmy Choo Co-Founder Cuts Posh Penthouse's Ask to $29.5M

New, 11 comments

Fashion designer Tamara Mellon is still trying to ditch her pretty 7,000-square-foot penthouse in the Carhart Mansion on 95th Street between Fifth and Madison avenues. After seven months on the market, the Jimmy Choo co-founder has chopped the grand apartment's ask by about 14 percent, down to $29.5 million from $34 million. In the past, Mellon expressed to the Times that the decision to leave behind the historic mansion penthouse's four wood-burning fireplaces, solarium, five bedrooms, multiple terraces, and not least its 13-by-23-foot walk in closet stems from a desire to experience "more of a downtown vibe." For the fogies out there, or really anyone else who's in the market for a $30 million duplex penthouse on the Upper East Side, we know one that's available.
