Fewer Herzog & De Meuron Condos Means They'll Be 'Special'

New, 12 comments

They don't even exist yet, but the Herzog & de Meuron-designed condos headed to a full-block site in the West Village just got a little harder to come by. Developer Ian Schrager told the Post that the somewhat mysterious development is downsizing from 88 units to 50, to make it "a really special project." (And a more expensive project.) Also, Schrager and his development partners have added two more parcels on Leroy Street—dooming a gentleman's club and a dance club in the process, which should help up the area's classiness factor. And, instead of being known as 357 West Street, it shall be known as 160 Leroy.
