$45M Greenwich Lane Penthouse Smashes Village Record

New, 3 comments

Part of the property that once held St. Vincent's Hospital is now home to the most expensive apartment ever sold in Greenwich Village. The south penthouse at 155 West 11th Street, the new construction tower that's part of the Greenwich Lane complex, entered contract for $45 million, a price that will set a new neighborhood price record when it closes (h/t The Real Deal). The duplex was in contract before it publicly listed last week. Previously, the development's priciest offering to get snapped up was a $33 million triplex penthouse at 160 West 12th Street.

The $45 million penthouse sits on the 16th and 17th floors of the new FXFOWLE-designed building and measures 5,587 square feet. It features a balcony off of the kitchen, a small terrace on the master bedroom, and a huge 1,400-square-foot wraparound terrace on the top floor. The living room has a fireplace and wet bar, and like all of the Greenwich Lane buildings, the interiors are designed by Thomas O'Brien.

Currently, the record holder for the most expensive home in Greenwich Village is the townhouse at 11 West 10th Street, which sold for $33.1488 million in 2007.
