Public Art in Dumbo; Socrates Sculpture Park Contest Winner

DUMBO—Brooklyn-based design studio Stereotank, with help from the DUMBO Improvement District and the Department of Transportation (DOT) Art Program, have unveiled a new public art piece in the Pearl Street Triangle. LONG ISLAND CITY—And in other public art news, Socrates Sculpture Park and The Architectural League of New York have announced that Cambridge and Philadelphia-based firm IK Studio is the winner of the 2015 Folly Program. The firm's sculpture, Torqueing Spheres, "which transforms a series of intertwining, sculpted forms into a meandering curved folly that encourages social interaction" will be unveiled at the park on Sunday.
