History's Tallest Buildings, Visualized with Fancy 'Flashcards'

The newest web feature from the Skyscraper Museum in New York City comes in the form of an interactive timeline on the history of height. On a mission to share the "what and why of tall buildings," the new visual tool offers a scrollable stream of "flashcards" that trace the highest structures of different eras, from the Great Pyramid of Giza to today's reigning megatall, the Burj Khalifa. While the infographic makes sure to include iconic buildings like the Eiffel Tower and Chicago's Marina City, it also highlights zoning laws, engineering breakthroughs, and other key developments in the evolution of the skyscraper.
