East 74th Street Tower Named The Rose Modern; MTA Woes

UPPER EAST SIDE—Developer Golden Asset's 20-story, 82-unit rental tower at 501 East 74th Street now has a name: The Rose Modern (in honor of the developer's mother, Rose). The tower is being designed by the Stephen B. Jacobs Group and is supposed to be completed by the end of the year. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]

UNDERGROUND—With prices set to go up on Sunday, subway riders are more displeased than ever with the quality of service that the MTA provides, particularly the riders that live off the L train. The Riders Alliance, a group that complains about how bad the subways are, plans to petition Governor Cuomo to make funding the subway system a top priority. "Delays don't just inconvenience riders—delays hurt the state's economy when workers can't get to work, impact education when students are late, and leave working families without other options stranded," said one member.
