Falling debris from construction sites across the five boroughs has struck 59 people in the last five years, and the numbers are on the rise; more than a quarter of those incidents occurred in the first nine months of 2014. Last week, plywood from the Greenwich Lane complex hit a 37-year-old woman, tragically killing her. Over the past six years, she is the only pedestrian to die from falling construction site debris.
