Hey, Financial District, Brace for Another Tall Crop O' Condos

New, 10 comments

As if it's an unstoppable juggernaut, the condo-fication of the Financial District must go on. Both New York YIMBY and The Real Deal spotted new building permits for a 50-story tower that active developer Lightstone Group wants to build at the southeast corner of William and Fulton streets. It would have retail space at the bottom, hotel rooms on the bottom floors, and 188 residential units on top, including a full-floor penthouse.

Given the average size of the apartments is 1,250 square feet, YIMBY assumes that they'll be condos.

Department of Buildings permit filings show that the height of the proposed tower is 581 feet, and that it will span several existing lots between William Street to the west, Gold Street to the east, and Fulton Street to the north.

Goldstein, Hill, and West Architects is listed as the designer. So, GWHA, what's this likely-to-be-approved addition to the skyline going to look like?
