The residents of Southbridge Towers have been battling over whether or not the 1,651-unit complex should leave the affordable Mitchell-Lama program since September, and while it seemed that the owners voted in favor of privatization, lawsuits and controversy have stalled the decision. At least two-thirds of residents needed to agree to go private, and it seemed that the decision passed by just 10 votes, but it turns out that 44 apartments may have been erroneously disqualified from voting, which would change the math.
