As Governors Island undergoes its transformation from ghost town to public park, the Governors Island Blog brings us an update on the soon-to-be main attractions: the four man-made hills on the southern section of the island, each with a different intended purpose. There's Grassy Hill (for lounging and recreation), Slide Hill (for kids), Discovery Hill (for nature), and, the big guy, Outlook Hill, which will rise to 80 feet tall and provide sweeping views across the water to Manhattan. Outlook Hill hit the 50 foot mark last week, the blog reports. The Hills are part of the $250 million project's Phase 2, and are expected to be completed by the end of 2015.
