South Street Seaport Wire

New, 14 comments

Friends of the South Street Seaport has issued a letter to the commissioner of New York state's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation requesting state assistance and oversight to help ensure that State Environmental Quality Review procedures are followed in the redevelopment of South Street Seaport. The request focuses on the planned zoning changes that will allow the construction of a 450-foot tower that, if built, would "[threaten] the sightline of the entire low-rise Historic South Street Seaport District."
