Our semi-regular feature, Monday Mansion, examines the most interesting mega homes on the market in the far reaches of New York. Have a listing in mind that we're missing? Tell us about it. To the outer boroughs we go!
The former Fieldston home of legendary 1940s jazz singer and bandleader Cab Calloway is on the market for $2.1 million. The Tudor-style mansion, which happens to be just a stone's throw from other NYC great Dr. Zizmor's perennially for-sale Mediterranean-style abode, has five bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and two half-baths. The piano in the home's living room only hints at the grand soirées Calloway might have hosted in the unassuming mansion at 4746 Iselin Avenue. Despite its past ownership, the home has been on and off the market over the past few months, originally asking $2.239 million in August 2014, and $1.99 million just five days ago.
