Our semi-regular feature, Monday Mansion, examines the most interesting mega homes on the market in the far reaches of New York. Have a listing in mind that we're missing? Tell us about it. To the outer boroughs we go!
Assuming that Staten Island is ruled by a king (we're not quite sure how the government works over there, but it's probably feudal and terrifying) then this seems like it would be the house castle that he would reside in. The place is not just gaudy, it is gaudiness, complete with a small fortune's worth of chandeliers, patterned floors, ornate curving bannisters, et cetera. The whole house appears to have been liberally sprinkled with glitter, of course, and there's a saltwater pool and basketball court on the country club-esque grounds. To quote the brokerbabble, "Created with craftsmanship that can never be replicated ... Words can't do justice to this majestic property." Both true statements, though probably not in the way they were intended. The "grand Monte Carlo-style estate" is asking $2,649,000.
