Demi Moore's Fabled San Remo Penthouse Finally Lets Us In

New, 35 comments

"The South Tower Penthouse is the embodiment of the last unicorn of Manhattan," begins the long-awaited listing for Demi Moore's San Remo penthouse which, after a year of quiet shopping, has finally listed on the open market for a bonkers $75 million. The listing brings with it the first interior shots of the Emory Roth-designed penthouse that the actress and ex-husband Bruce Willis purchased and renovated in the "Southwestern Mission motif." Although there aren't a whole lot of pictures—just four from inside the 14-plus-room apartment—they promise that the triplex is as drool-worthy as a penthouse atop one of the city's most iconic buildings should be.

After quietly shopping the palatial triplex around off of the open market, Moore finally resorted to giving the New York Times an exclusive on ahead of the apartment's public listing. The article came with a slew of new intel about the penthouse's interiors, including details on its 14- by 20- foot southeastern corner library with "original plaster rosette molding and bas reliefs in the ceiling" replete with an Emory Roth-designed en suite, its custom-made Mission-style pocket doors between the gallery and the living room, and its 36- by 22-foot living room with three exposures and more than 20 feet of park frontage.

The listing also divulges new details about the triplex. The apartment's first floor—the 26th—holds the living room, dining room, breakfast room and kitchen. It's second floor has five bedrooms plus a staff room—likely no park-facing views there. Too bad there listing comes with a floorplan—and the penthouse's top floor houses its entertainment room (pictured), a guest loft, bathroom, study, and another kitchen. The $75 million listing also comes with a ground-floor two-bedroom maisonette that was also renovated in the "Southwestern Mission motif."
