A 25-story, 158-room hotel that will rise on West 15th Street between 9th and 10th avenues in the Meatpacking District has a new look. The renderings, spotted by YIMBY, are the work of CetraRuddy, who overtook the job from previous project architects Stonehill & Taylor. When complete, the Legacy Group-developed hotel will float above its relatively squat surroundings but will still fit in with its brick facade. The building will be crowned by some kind of glimmering design element, which will presumably function to draw people to the hotel like fish to shiny objects. Kidding aside, Curbed has reached out for comment regarding the element, which is noted only on the building's Schedule A as "terrace."
According to YIMBY, the building will be complete in summer of 2016.
