Douglas Elliman has charged one of its brokers, Paolo Zampolli, with "hoarding" $1.5 million, according to a civil suit filed last week. The suit alleges that Zampolli—an Italian aristocrat, diplomat, founder of ID Models, and Elliman broker—reneged on a deal to hand over percent of his commissions to Elliman, using his personal email to hide $4 million, including the brokerage's $1.5 million stake. Now, Elliman hopes to get all $4 million as compensation. UPDATE: This article previously stated that Zampolli was charged with embezzling money, but that is incorrect. Curbed regrets the error. [NYP]
