Permits were filed for this seven-story building with 133 apartments off of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway in 2013, and finally the building to rise at 125 Borinquen Place has shown itself thanks to renderings gleaned by YIMBY. Of course the DJLU-designed building will be rather large and boxy; this is Williamsburg, after all. The building bounded by Borinquen Place, South 2nd Street, and Rodney Street will count amongst its amenities a landscaped interior courtyard with a fountain, a glassed-in center atrium, ground floor retail, 68 parking spots, and complimentary BQE fumes. Because of the building's size, YIMBY speculates that 20-percent of apartments will be priced below market rate. The permits indicate that Joel Schwartz of Grand Residences LLC is the developer, although the property hasn't appeared to trade hands since 1968.
