New, 2 comments

As part of a five-year partnership with the Parks Department, Parsons graduate students are making improvements to public spaces across the city. The initiative's already touched down in Washington Heights and has helped reimagine a resilient future for public housing; now, the student's are building a new locker room and changing pavilion for the landmarked Sunset Park Recreation Center, pro bono. According to a press release sent out by The New School, the facilities will free up the recreation center's gym and computer labs, previously used as dressing rooms, for summer use. Construction began on the facilities alongside the 1, 678-person pool in 2014 and will open this summer.
