The former Cabrini Medical Center is well on its way to starting its new life as condos, and representatives for the development say those condos will hit the market this summer, with prices starting at $1.3 million. New renderings recently gave a closer look at each of the development's four buildings, and a teaser site clarifies their addresses and locations, and provides a flowery description of the 223 apartments: "Gracious studio to four bedroom condominium residences. Posh garden homes and dramatic penthouses." Expect duplexes, full-floor homes, maisonettes, and penthouses with large terraces. The project, named Gramercy Square, will also have a 25,000-square-foot courtyard designed by Rick Parisi of M. Paul Friedberg and Partners, the same team that designed the courtyard for the Greenwich Lane.
The four buildings, three conversions and one new construction, will share a 12,000-square-foot "executive lifestyle club" (who names these things?). La Palestra will run, which will hold a full gym, yoga and treatment rooms, 75-foot pool, a hot tub, and a golf simulator. There will also be a lounge, dining room with a full guest kitchen, a separate catering kitchen, a screening room, a playroom, and storage, of the bike and regular variety. All buildings will have 24-hour doormen, and on-site parking will be offered.
Woods Bagot is designing, and it's being developed by Chetrit and Clipper Equities. 215 East 19th Street will have 140 apartments over 16 stories; 225 East 19th Street and 230 East 20th Street will each hold 54 apartments (the latter is the new construction); and 220 East 20th Street will be the smallest, with just eight full-floor units.
