WeWork May Build Offices, Apartments in Brooklyn Navy Yard [UPDATE: No Apartments]

New, 4 comments

NY YIMBY has some initial renderings of a large project that co-working startup WeWork may be bringing to the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Real Estate Weekly reported in 2013 that the company was considering a 500,000-square-foot lease at the site, and according to YIMBY the project would be a mix of offices and residences. The ODA-esque design comes from architects S9 and Perkins Eastman, and while it does not appear to be final nor official, S9 is also designing WeWork's project in the Financial District (they also have one underway in Harlem).

[UPDATE: The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation reached out to clarify that "there will not be residential development within the Brooklyn Navy Yard."]
