See the First Building of Astoria's Hallets Point Megaproject

New, 3 comments

Two giant megaprojects will completely transform Astoria's waterfront over the next decade, and New York YIMBY shared renderings that give a closer look at what will be one of the first new buildings to rise. Designed by Dattner Architects, this is "Building 1" of Hallets Point, an eight-building complex being developed by the Durst Organization and Lincoln Equities. It features two 20-story towers "oriented to maximize river views" that rise from a retail base. Renderings show a supermarket, a large landscaped amenity space atop the base, and a row of what appear to be townhouses.

Dattner's website says Building 1 will be complete by 2017. The full development will hold 2,400 apartments, with 483 of those being set aside as affordable. The timeline for the other buildings is unclear.
