Fugitive's Former Park Imperial Pad Asks $39 Million

New, 36 comments

Former Comverse Technology founder and CEO Jacob "Kobi" Alexander fled the country in 2006 when he was conspiracy to commit various types of fraud (securities, wire, mail, etc.) and while he has been hiding out in Namibia and avoiding extradition ever since, his awesome apartment in Midtown's Park Imperial has remained behind. (It's hard to take an 8,000-square-foot six-bedroom with you.) The apartment, which has been on and off the rental market for around $100,000/month, has now been listed for $39 million. (The rental listing had noted that it was available for sale, but this is the first time a price has been openly attached.) Alexander paid $8.6 million when he purchased it in 2001, though obviously he would not be getting his hands on the money from the sale, which is okay since moved more than $64 million to offshore accounts before the U.S. government froze his American ones.
