ODA Strays From Stack o' Boxes With New Gramercy Building

New, 21 comments

Prolific architecture firm ODA has unveiled a design for a new residential building that will rise on the graves of three small Gramercy buildings. The incoming 19-story tower at 150 East 23rd Street will consume Nos. 150-154 and bring along with it 54 probably pricey apartments. Because they'll be on the larger side, YIMBY guesses they'll be condos. Kent Chang is developing the project, which has gotten the green light to move forward with demolition but is still waiting for an approved new building application.

The new building will have a 19th floor penthouse with exclusive rooftop use, as well as nearly 6,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
