FiDi Building To Grow 23 Stories, Become 92 Apartments

More apartments are coming to the Financial District. Yesterday, the Moinian Group and architect Nobutaka Ashihara filed plans with the Department of Buildings to turn a a five-story commercial building into a 28-story residential building (h/t the Real Deal). The property is located at 102 John Street between Gold and Pearl streets, and it is directly beside Moinian's 29-story 100 John Street. As filed, the plans would bring the building to 336 feet tall and create 92 new apartments. The lower floors would remain commercial, with retail and offices.

The lowest level of the residential building would hold a "tenant recreation area," but filings don't specify what that entails. Most floors will have four apartments a piece, but the top two will have three units.
