Long Island College Hospital redeveloper Fortis Property Group has, as expected, filed plans to convert the historic Polhemus Building into condos, YIMBY reports. The building was constructed in 1897 and operated as part of the hospital for more than a century, before LICH closed it in 2008. There were plans at that time to convert it to condos, but they never came to fruition—now, however, the building, which sits in the Cobble Hill Historic District, will fulfill its apparent destiny. The plans call for 17 units averaging 2,540 square feet apiece.
