Murray Hill's Newest Rental Has $4,000/Month Studios

New, 12 comments

What is the worst part about Murray Hill's newest rental: its name, The Frontier, or the fact that it has studios asking more than $4,000 per month? We're going to have to go with the latter. Even though the studios are spacious—the one currently on the market measures 590 square feet—and the building offers a range of top notch amenities, the $4,020/month studio is still the second most expensive studio in the entire neighborhood, according to StreetEasy (the priciest option comes furnished). Work on the 19-story building began in 2012, and since leasing is now underway, completion is near, though the building still doesn't have its Certificate of Occupancy. There are 91 apartments, 19 of which are set aside as affordable (those studios start at $847), ranging from studios to two-bedrooms.

Currently, StreetEasy shows active listings for one of each unit type. The 657-square-foot one-bedroom is asking $5,005/month, while the 933-square-foot two-bedroom, two-bathroom is asking $7,210/month. All apartments are being offered with 14 month leases with two months free, so that should make the high price a little less painful. The interiors have bamboo floors, stainless steel appliances, solar shades, and individual heating and cooling controls.
