Our semi-regular feature, Monday Mansion, examines the most interesting mega homes on the market in the far reaches of New York. Have a listing in mind that we're missing? Tell us about it. To the outer boroughs we go!
It's been more than three years since the completely absurd house at 2134 Ocean Parkway in Gravesend, Brookyln first hit the market, and the place has gotten no less absurd. In fact, the newest listing uses the exact same photos as it did in 2012, but there has been a broken swap and a pricechop. Once asking $14 million, the 9,200-square-foot palace is now asking just under $9 million. The brokerbabble fittingly matches the totally weird interiors with phrases like "articulately customized" and "art-nouveau staircase accented by artisan wrought iron panels." There is a lot of marble, granite, and limestone, plus more crystal chandeliers than even a tacky wedding venue needs.
