SLCE Architects has filed plans for a 25-story residential tower at 1 Beekman Street, a site across the street from City Hall Park that developer Urban Muse purchased last year for $52 million, NY YIMBY reports. There site is currently occupied by two commercial buildings (three and six stories), which, until last April, were home to electronics store J&R. The new building will be 25 stories tall, which is pretty tall but still not even half as tall as the 51-story condo tower that is set to rise next door at 5 Beekman Street. 1 Beekman will have only 29 apartments, with a substantial average size of 2,011 square feet.
