Temple Court Will Begin Its New Life As A Hotel on Feb. 1

New, 7 comments

The glorious landmarked building known as Temple Court is well on its way to becoming a high-end hotel, and DNAinfo reports that an opening date has been set: February 1, 2016. The new was announced at a community board meeting this week. The 1880s building is known for its beautiful, soaring atrium (once a hot spot for urban explorers), which will be a centerpiece of the new Beekman Hotel. The 287 rooms will be operated by Thompson Hotels, and renowned restaurateur Keith McNally will open a 94-seat French bistro. This restaurant, as well as a lounge from Tom Colicchio, will also open on February 1. Though the opening is still more than six months away, the hotel will start taking reservations next month.

The 51-story condo tower that is rising behind the Queen Anne-style gem will open later in 2016, possibly the second quarter. The 68 condos are currently on the market, with prices ranging from $1.265 million to $4.55 million. Of the 34 units listed on StreetEasy, currently 30 are in contract.
