After years and years of work, the crazy, Jenga-like residential tower 56 Leonard has finally topped out, according to 6sqft.
When we last checked in, the 21-foot, 60-story Herzog & de Meuron-designed tower, wasn't the only thing that was getting high [rimshot]. Construction had just reached the 50th floor, and work was just about to begin on the building's ten massive, expensive penthouses (two of which are still available).
Now, the only things left to do is install of the rest of the exterior glass and complete work on the interiors of the building's 145 units, almost all of which have been sold. Construction will likely wrap up by the end of the year.
