Quaint Queens Colonial With an Airy Front Porch Asks $1.6M

New, 2 comments

Our semi-regular feature, Monday Mansion, examines the most interesting mega homes on the market in the far reaches of New York. Have a listing in mind that we're missing? Tell us about it. To the outer boroughs we go!

Little Neck is one of those eastern Queens neighborhoods that feels a lot more like Long Island than New York City. Situated on a bay, the area is filled with standalone single-family homes, many of which are huge and/or gaudy. But this pale yellow colonial on Cherry Street solidly avoids the latter, and instead appears to be a quaint slice of suburbia within city limits. It has five bedrooms, a couple wood-burning fireplaces, a loft, and hardwood floors throughout. The best feature is by far the wide front porch, perfect for lazy summer days and beating the heat with a cool glass of lemonade. The asking price is $1.599 million.
