As construction pounds away at the site of Robert A.M. Stern's 950-foot-tall tower for the super rich, a new rendering spotted by New York YIMBY gives a first look at the building's "Villa" section, where its 10 apartments will all be priced upwards of $30 million. While it looks tiny alongside the much taller, 65-story 220 Central Park South proper, the "Villas" section rises a not-all-that-meager 17 stories. YIMBY notes that the only renderings for 220 CPS were released a year and a half ago, and that the new render from the project's architect of record, SLCE, confirms that not much has changed design-wise in that time. But given Stern's track record for producing buildings that double as limestone monuments, that's not all that surprising.
