Extell's 1,500-Foot Midtown Megatower Is Ready to Rise

New, 3 comments

The first crane has arrived at the future site of the Central Park Tower (née Nordstrom Tower), NY YIMBY reports. Though Extell has not been forthcoming with details about the construction of the supertall tower—at 1,522 feet, it will have the tallest roof height of any building in New York City and the rest of the western hemisphere—the crane's presence indicates that the building is about to start rising. Things may be delayed slightly, however, as workers are currently on strike against the Cement League, according to on-site signage. The tower is expected to be completed by 2018.
